Cookie Policy

This policy explains how CaNo Solutions GmbH handles cookies and comparable techniques on this website. The short version is in the first box below. This is the English rendering of our German cookie policy; the German version remains authoritative.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your device. The next time you visit, the contents of that file are sent back to the website. This is how a login, a shopping basket or a language setting can be carried across several page views. Local storage, session storage and similar browser stores work in a comparable way.

A distinction is usually drawn between strictly necessary cookies, which a website needs in order to function, and optional cookies for statistics, convenience features or marketing. Optional cookies may only be set after you have given your express consent.

2. What this website actually stores

Nothing. This is a static website: every page is generated in advance and delivered unchanged. There is no login, no shopping basket and no personalised content — and therefore no reason to store anything on your device.

In particular, the following are neither set nor used when you visit these pages:

• cookies of any kind, including strictly necessary ones,
• local storage or session storage,
• tracking pixels, web beacons or comparable invisible measurement elements,
• fingerprinting techniques used to recognise your device.

Switching between the German and the English version works through separate addresses (URLs) and therefore needs no storage in your browser.

3. Why there is no cookie banner

Consent is legally required where information is stored on your device or read from it. That is precisely what does not happen here. A consent banner would have no subject matter — it would only ask for a decision that changes nothing.

We consider that the more honest approach: not collecting agreement that serves no purpose. Should this change, this policy changes with it (see section 6).

4. No analytics, marketing or tracking techniques

We use no audience measurement and no web analytics, with or without cookies. There is no conversion tracking, there are no retargeting pixels and no usage data is passed to advertising networks. Your behaviour on this website is not evaluated and no usage profiles are created.

5. No external services that could set cookies

The most common source of third-party cookies is content embedded from other servers. There are no such embeds here:

• Fonts are loaded entirely from our own server. No connection is made to a font service such as Google Fonts.
• Maps are not embedded; our address appears as plain text on the page.
• Videos from video platforms are not embedded.
• Social media plug-ins and like buttons are not used. References to other sites, where they appear, are ordinary links — they transmit data only once you click them.
• Images, styles and scripts come exclusively from our own server. No third-party content delivery networks are involved.

Opening a page therefore generates no request to any external server. The only records necessary for delivery are the server log files kept by our hosting provider; how these are processed is described in our privacy policy. Log files are not cookies: they are created on the server, not on your device.

6. If this changes in future

This website continues to be developed. As soon as a function is added that requires cookies or comparable storage — a contact form with spam protection, audience measurement or an embedded service, for example — the following applies:

• We will extend this policy with a concrete description: which technique, for what purpose, with what storage period and from which provider.
• Strictly necessary storage will be named transparently; it is required for the function you have asked for to work at all.
• Anything beyond that will only become active after your express consent. We will set up a consent management tool in which you can agree or refuse item by item and withdraw your decision at any time with effect for the future.
• Without your consent the website remains usable; you suffer no disadvantage as a result.

7. Managing cookies in your browser

Independently of this website, your browser settings let you decide whether and which cookies may be stored, delete cookies already stored, and have them removed automatically when the browser closes. These options are usually found under “Privacy and security”. Please note that blocking cookies entirely can limit your use of other websites — on this one it has no effect at all.
